RETURN TO WORK AWARENESS COURSE

An employer’s role within workers compensation is important to the success of a worker’s recovery at work. Early and regular support an employer provides a worker has a positive impact on their road to recovery at work.

 

This short course is designed for Managers, Supervisors and Team Leaders to provide an understanding of the employers role in the return to work process of injured workers.

 

The course will cover case study examples and and evidence of the benefit of early return to work.

COURSE CONTENT

Topics Covered:

  • Overview Workers compensation.
  • Obligations of the employer to provide suitable duties.
  • Process when an injury occurs, reporting, notification to insurer and identification of suitable duties.
  • Early return to work benefits based on evidence.
  • The Certificate of Capacity.
  • Initial assessment and what information the injured worker requires.
  • Working with the Nominated Treating Doctor and attending appointments with the worker.
  • Treatment – within or outside of work hours.
  • How to identify suitable duties.

CERTIFICATION

Successful participants will receive a statement of training issued by the Advance OHS.
