HSR Refresher Comcare Commonwealth

HEALTH AND SAFETY REPRESENTATIVES REFRESHER COURSE (COMMONWEALTH JURISDICTION)

Elected HSRs are entitled to receive HSR Refresher training one year after they have completed the five-day initial course of training. The Refresher course is designed to:

  • (a) provide HSRs with an overview of the Learning Outcomes in the initial five day training;
  • (b) provide the HSRs with information on any developments in WHS legislation, such as changes to the Act, Regulations, Approved Codes of Practice or any updated case law; and ,
  • (c) focus on HSR skills development.

COURSE CONTENT

Learning Outcomes:

  • Interpreting the work health and safety legislative framework and its relationship to the HSR.
  • Identifying key parties, legislative obligations and duties.
  • Establishing representation in the workplace.
  • Participating in consultation and issues resolution.
  • Represent members in the whs risk management process undertaken by the PCBU.
  • Issuing a Provisional Improvement Notice (PIN) and directing the cessation of work.

CERTIFICATION

Upon successful completion of the course HSRs will receive SafeWork NSW Statement of Training.

Managers, Supervisors or Non HSRs will be issued with a certificate of attendance.

You must provide identification containing your name, photo and signature prior to course commencement. Please see the attached form in your course email confirmation.
