Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Interpret the WHS legislative framework and its relationship to the HSR role
- Identify key parties, legislative obligations, and health and safety duties
- Establish and participate in workplace consultation processes
- Participate effectively in WHS issue resolution procedures
- Represent work group members in risk management processes
- Issue Provisional Improvement Notices (PINs) when appropriate
- Direct unsafe work to cease when there is a serious risk
- Conduct workplace inspections and investigate incidents
CERTIFICATE
Upon successful completion of the course HSRs will receive SafeWork NSW Statement of Training.

Language Requirements
Participants undertaking the Health and Safety Representative (HSR) course (Commonwealth) must have sufficient English language, literacy and numeracy skills to actively participate in training. This includes the ability to read and understand basic workplace health and safety information, communicate verbally in English during discussions, follow simple instructions, and recognise basic numbers relevant to WHS activities.
Participants who require assistance with language, literacy or numeracy are encouraged to contact our staff prior to enrolment to discuss available support options and reasonable adjustments.
